This year Milton Keynes Science Festival takes place from Saturday 17 - Sunday 25th Octoebr. We are seeking to recruit volunteers to assist with different aspects of the Festival. Volunteers are very important to us and help to ensure the success of the Festival.
Our volunteer programme is an exciting opportunity to get behind the scenes of event management and to get involved in hands-on, cutting edge, exciting science events. There are also some great benefits too:

Public Event Volunteers
As an Events Volunteer, you will assist at events to help make sure they run smoothly e.g. assisting customers on the door, helping presenters set up, helping with contacting the right people if problems arise, handing out flyers and evaluations.
We are seeking customer focused, articulate volunteers who are happy to work with the public. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the exciting events which make up the Festival. You need to have some availability between 17th and 25th October and possibly in the run up to the Festival to help at our series of Trailblazers.
Big Weekend Volunteers
As a Big Weekend Volunteer, you will be assisting stands to make sure they have everything they need at set up, talking to members of the public about the Festival programme and directing people around the shopping centre as well as observing how the stand runs and how people react to it.
We are seeking customer focused, articulate volunteers who are happy to work with the public. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the exciting Festival at the weekend and see how the public react. You must be available on Saturday 24th or Sunday 25th October and able to get to the shopping centres in central Milton Keynes.
Schools’ Programme Volunteers
Hundreds of school students will attend the schools programme during the week. To help make these events happen, we need volunteers to help escort and guide groups around the venues, support groups with their activities and to lend general assistance at the events.
This is a perfect opportunity if you are interested in getting a flavour for an event at the Festival to see how you might participate further in the future, as well as gaining valuable experience working with young people.
We need enthusiastic, willing volunteers who are happy communicating with young people. You MUST be available on at least one day from Monday 19th - Thursday 22nd October. Not all events are a full day.
