Tiantian Zhang, PhD, is a Professor of Cryobiology at the Institute of Research in the Applied Natural Sciences, University of Bedfordshire. She had both BSc and MPhil degrees in Environmental Biology. Her PhD study at the University of Bedfordshire was on 'Investigations into cryopreservation of fish embryos' (Cryobiology/Low Temperature Biology). Her research has been in the areas of cryopreservation of fish embryos, oocytes and cells. Her major grants are 'Development of technologies for cryopreservation of fish oocytes' (funded by the EU) and 'Investigation of new approaches to the cryopreservation of fish embryos' (funded by The Wellcome Trust). Tiantian is currently the Chairman of Society for Low Temperature Biology. She has been a member of the editorial boards of Journals Animal Reproduction Science and Cryo-Letters. She is also a referee of numerous other specialist journals including Biology of Reproduction, Cryobiology, Theriogenology, Journal of Zoology, Aquaculture and Aquaculture Research. She is also the Course Director of the MSc Cryobiology and Biotechnology courses at the University of Bedfordshire.
