I am currently working at the Open University as a Reader in Mathematics and teach in a variety of roles including author of a new third level course MS324, tutor and course director at the MST207 residential school in Stirling, a script maker of MST207 exams and a supervisor of research students. My research interests include aperiodic order and quasicrystals, statistical physics, mathematical biology, population genetics, solvable lattice models of statistical mechanics, quantum groups, braids, knots and links and combinatronics and number theory. Many of this of this is funded by the grant received from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Since 1988 I have contributed to several publications, conference papers and journals. A full list is available at http://mcs.open.ac.uk/ugg2/publications.shtml
